Red 5 Website up and running!

After a long time running with partial websites and failed attempts of some sort of cohesive look the Red Five Skimboars web site is up and running. Red Five Skimboards. You might see the page update in the coming months but it will keep the same format with more boards added, media clips and more apparel added. We are the full blown one stop shop for skimboarding. I already have my skimboarding wax molds created and will be offering wax as well. The wax is called Atomic Pudding. I asked Ricky what we should call it and there you have it.

Check out our pics from the Wedge in August. The Wedge The waves were hitting 10 feet at the shoreline. This was a pretty awesome sight. With the power and force of mother nature I wouldn't want to be bailing on those waves. Like always there were atleast 50 people watching all of the body surfers risk their lives. Just a couple of weeks prior to our visit the Wedge had a fatality, but those brave souls keep pushing the envelope and get back out there everyday!!!

Don't forget the Mavericks. They are currently in the offical waiting period. The waves are actually hitting today at 8-10 feet. Check out the web cam. Mavericks in Half Moon Bay
Happy Turkey Day!!!!

Friday Night at the De Young

The scene was loud, it was crowded, it was alive! If you ever walked the Mission before and noticed the great collection of Muralismo on the walls, in the back alleys and on the entire facades of schools and other buildings alike, then you should of been at the De young last night. There were 30+ artist, writers, muralist and just a great diverse crowd of creative people. Dr.Loco and the Rocking Jalepanos were playin on stage. A couple of spoken word artist took to the stage and slideshows of the Mission Murals graced the walls. Out of all the artist I spoke with and had sign my book, I met one of the most creative, prolific, and enduring artist attending the gala, Juana Alicia. If you don't know who she is then you owe it to your self to walk the Mission and discover her work. Take a mural tour or buy the book Street Art San Francisco, Mission Muralismo. This newly released book is a very in depth collection of essays, art, photography, and a culture that can only be found in the Misson District of San Francisco.
